Website Privacy Policy
Internet privacy is of increasing concern. Every individual has the right to know if a website is collecting any data about him or her, and how that data is used. The Lee High School Choir Booster Club (Booster Club), takes those concerns seriously, and we have formulated the following policy to address them.
General Policy
We do not collect any personal information about visitors to our website. We do not know nor can we ascertain a visitor's name, address, phone number, drivers license or Social Security number, date of birth, marital status, bank account numbers, nor - except as explained below - email address. We cannot access anything stored on the computers used by visitors to our website.
This website does use forms to allow visitors to submit information for inclusion on the website. If you choose to provide any information via those forms, you do so on a strictly voluntary basis, but you may rest assured that such information will be used only for the purpose described. We do not sell or otherwise share your personal information with any third parties.
In the unlikely event that the Booster Club is required by a governmental agency or court to turn over any information collected via this website, we will comply to the extent required by law.
Children's Privacy
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) protects the personal information of children under the age of 13. This applies to individually identifiable information about a child that is collected online, such as full name, home address, email address, telephone number or any other information that would allow someone to identify or contact the child. Provisions of COPPA also cover other types of information for example, hobbies, interests and information collected through cookies or other types of tracking mechanisms when they are tied to individually identifiable information. It is important for you to understand this law; we encourage you to read more about COPPA.
Consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, we will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without prior verifiable parental consent.
Cookies
Cookies are small bits of data which are placed on your hard drive by certain websites in order to identify you as a repeat visitor to those sites. The vast majority of cookies are innocuous and are used for such things as storing passwords or membership IDs for sites that require them.
This website does not currently issue cookies for any reason. That could change in the future, if interactive features are added to the site, but any such changes will be clearly communicated. And, in any event, any such cookies will never be used to collect personal information about visitors to our site.
Visitor Logs
This website resides on a server maintained by a third-party webhost. A standard feature of such servers is the creation of what are called "referer logs," which contain certain data about every visit to each website housed on those servers. If analyzed properly, this log can be useful in understanding how people find our website, and what features they use most often. The following information is collected in the referer log for this website:
- The visitor's IP address, which is a code identifying the visitor's Internet Service Provider (such as America Online, MSN, etc.)
- The referring address, which is the webpage from which the visitor came to the current site. For example, if a visitor found NMC's website via the Google search engine, the Google address would be shown as the referring address.
- If the visitor arrived at the website via a search engine query, the log shows what words or phrases the visitor used in that query.
- The date and time the visitor came to the current page, and how long the visitor spent on that page.
- A list of all the pages visited within our website.
The referer log does NOT capture any personal information, such as name or email address, nor can the log be used to identify any specific visitor.
Incidentally, the creation of this log is not controlled by, nor can it be modified by the Booster Club.
Links
This website contains links to other sites. The Booster Club is not responsible for the privacy practices of those other sites. This Privacy Statement applies solely to information collected by the the Booster Club's website.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
The Booster Club reserves the right to change or update its Website Privacy Policy at its discretion. We will make reasonable efforts to highlight any significant changes to this policy on our website, but if you are concerned, please check this page periodically.
In any event, we will never change our policy of not collecting individually-identifiable information from visitors to our website without their knowledge, nor will we ever share personal data provided voluntarily by visitors with third parties, except as provided above.
